About #EmergencyLessons

#EmergencyLessons celebrates the role and importance of education to us all.

When emergencies hit – from natural disasters, such as earthquakes or flooding, to civil conflicts, and to health crises, such as the Ebola outbreak – children’s education can be disrupted and, is often, abandoned.

But education – and school – is the one thing that gives children a sense of normality. It’s the routine, the friends, the support, the hope for the future that enables children to better cope with difficulties. During and after emergencies, education is critical to children’s ability to not only survive, but thrive.

#EmergencyLessons shows – and celebrates – this, with lessons from children living through crises around the world. They share with us what they love about school, and encourage you to do the same.
